Good morning teachers and fellow students.
Today we would like to introduce a few favorite books to you.My favorite book is(Italian: Cuore). This is a diary written by an Italian boy Enrico. The diary is about his life and study. It included various touching stories that happened around Enrico, the mottos taught by his parents, as well as the wonderful ten “monthly” stories told by his teacher during the class.Every word in the chapter describes the word “l(fā)ove”.From patriotism to friendship, and to the love between parents and child--really touching. This novel taught me how to love, and how to learn from love.I really like this book very much. How about you?
Its a great honor for me to stand here to deliver a speech to you. Then today I want to talk something about dreams and reality. As the famous Russian litterateur Lev Tolstoy said, “Ideal is the beacon. Without ideal, there is no secure direction; without a direction, there is no life.” So there’s no doubt that everyone needs his or her own ideal. Have you ever thought that what is practical and sensible will connect with our most treasured dreams? Maybe, to somebody, reality has little relation to ideal. To others nothing can be done without the sense of reality. So make our dreams a part of our reality. And make our reality a part of our dreams. There is no reason why our dreams must oppose our reality. Improve our dreams and our reality by bringing them together. As a university student, establishing a dream is one of the most important things we have to do everyone must see the reality clearly at first. Your family condition, your personal ability, your social intercourse, your subject and the job you want to do, these things show you the reality and lead you to establish a dream. Further more, difficult or otherwise, we should put the power of reality into our dreams. Last but not least remember to work hard at the task of chasing our dreams. Do believe that we can achieve our ideal step by step by the passage of time! In the end, I want to share with you a poetrynamed " I think I can" Maybe you can not understand the meaning of the poetry , But do not be worried ,Let me tell you the meaning Thank you for your listening!
Knowledge can be acquired from many sources. These
include books, teachers and practical experience, and each has its own advantages. The knowledge we gain from books and formal education enables us to learn about things that we have no opportunity to experience in daily life. We can study all the places in the world and learn from people we will never meet in our lifetime, just by reading about them in books. We can also develop our analytical skills and learn how to view and interpret the world around us in different ways. Furthermore, we can learn from the past by reading books. In this way, we won’t repeat the mistakes of others and can build on their achievements. Practical experience, on the other hand, can give us more useful knowledge. It is said that one learns best by doing, and I believe that this is true, whether one is successful or not. In fact, I think making mistakes is the best way to learn. Moreover, if one wants to make new advances, it is necessary to act. Innovations do not come about through reading but through experimentation. Finally, one can apply the skills and insights gained through the study of books to practical experience, making an already meaningful experience more meaningful. However, unless it is applied to real experiences, book knowledge remains theoretical and, in the end, is useless. That is why I believe that knowledge gained from practical experience is more important than that acquired from books.

no writer who knows the great writers who did not receive the prize can accept it other than with e is no need to list these yone here may make his own list according to his knowledge and his conscience.
在座的每一個人,都可以根據(jù)他的學識和良心提出自己名單來 would be impossible for me to ask the ambassador of my country to read a speech in which a writer saidall of the things which are in his gs may not be immediately discernible in what a man writes, and in this sometimes he is fortunate; but eventually they are quite clear and by these and the degree of alchemy that he possesses he will endure or be forgotten.

for a true writer, each book should be a new beginning where he tries again for something that is beyond should always try for something that has never been done or that others have tried and sometimes, with good luck,he will succeed.
how simple the writing of literature would be if it were only necessary to write in another way what has been well is because we have had such great writers in the past that a writer is driven far out past where he can go,out to where no one can help him.
i have spoken too long for a writer.a writer should write what he has to say and not speak it.
again i thank you.
Office of the Press SecretaryxxFor Immediate Release September 8, 20xx
REMARKS BY THE PRESIDENTIN A NATIONAL ADDRESS TO AMERICA"S SCHOOLCHILDREN
Wakefield High SchoolArlington, Virginia
12:06 P.M. EDT
THE PRESIDENT: Hello, everybody。 Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, everybody. All right, everybody go ahead and have a seat. How is everybody doing today? (Applause.) How about Tim Spicer? (Applause.) I am here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. And we"ve got students tuning in from all across America, from kindergarten through 12th grade. And I am just so glad that all could join us today. And I want to thank Wakefield for being such an outstanding host. Give yourselves a big round of applause. (Applause.)
I know that for many of you, today is the first day of school. And for those of you in kindergarten, or starting middle or high school, it"s your first day in a new school, so it"s understandable if you"re a little nervous. I imagine there are some seniors out there who are feeling pretty good right now -- (applause) -- with just one more year to go. And no matter what grade you"re in, some of you are probably wishing it were still summer and you could"ve stayed in bed just a little bit longer this morning.
I know that feeling. When I was young, my family lived overseas. I lived in Indonesia for a few years. And my mother, she didn"t have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school, but she thought it was important for me to keep up with an American education. So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself, Monday through Friday. But because she had to go to work, the only time she could do it was at
4:30 in the morning.
Now, as you might imagine, I wasn"t too happy about getting up that early. And a lot of times, I"d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I"d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and she"d say, "This is no picnic for me either, buster." (Laughter.)
So I know that some of you are still adjusting to being back at school. But I"m here today because I have something important to discuss with you. I"m here because I want to talk with you about your education and what"s expected of all of you in this new school year.
Now, I"ve given a lot of speeches about education. And I"ve talked about responsibility a lot.
I"ve talked about teachers" responsibility for inspiring students and pushing you to learn.
I"ve talked about your parents" responsibility for making sure you stay on track, and you get your homework done, and don"t spend every waking hour in front of the TV or with the Xbox.
I"ve talked a lot about your government"s responsibility for setting high standards, and supporting teachers and principals, and turning around schools that aren"t working, where students aren"t getting the opportunities that they deserve.
But at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, the best schools in the world -- and none of it will make a difference, none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities, unless you show up to those schools, unless you pay attention to those teachers, unless you listen to your parents and grandparents and other adults and put in the hard work it takes to succeed. That"s what I want to focus on today: the responsibility each of you has for your education.
I want to start with the responsibility you have to yourself. Every single one of you has something that you"re good at. Every single one of you has something to offer. And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is. That"s the opportunity an education can provide.
Maybe you could be a great writer -- maybe even good enough to write a book or articles in a newspaper -- but you might not know it until you write that English paper -- that English class paper that"s assigned to you. Maybe you could be an innovator or an inventor -- maybe even good enough to come up with the next iPhone or the new medicine or vaccine -- but you might not know it until you do your project for your science class. Maybe you could be a mayor or a senator or a Supreme Court justice -- but you might not know that until you join student government or the debate team.
And no matter what you want to do with your life, I guarantee that you"ll need an education to do it. You want to be a doctor, or a teacher, or a police officer? You want to be a nurse or an architect, a lawyer or a member of our military? You"re going to need a good education for every single one of those careers. You cannot drop out of school and just drop into a good job. You"ve got to train for it and work for it and learn for it.。
you may observe, that amongst all the great and worthy persons (whereof the memory remaineth, either ancient or recent) there is not one, that hath been transported to the mad degree of love: which shows that great spirits, and great business, do keep out this weak passion. you must except, nevertheless, marcus antonius, the half partner of the empire of rome, and appius claudius, the decemvir and lawgiver; whereof the former was indeed a voluptuous man, and inordinate; but the latter was an austere and wise man: and therefore it seems (though rarely) that love can find entrance, not only into an open heart, but also into a heart well fortified, if watch be not well kept.
it is a poor saying of epicurus, satis magnum alter alteri theatrum sumus; as if man, made for the contemplation of heaven, and all noble objects, should do nothing but kneel before a little idol, and make himself a subject, though not of the mouth (as beasts are), yet of the eye; which was given him for higher purposes.
it is a strange thing, to note the excess of this passion, and how it braves the nature, and value of things, by this; that the speaking in a perpetual hyperbole, is comely in nothing but in love. neither is it merely in the phrase; for whereas it hath been well said, that the arch-flatterer, with whom all the petty flatterers have intelligence, is a man’s self; certainly the lover is more. for there was never proud man thought so absurdly well of himself, as the lover doth of the person loved; and therefore it was well said, that it is impossible to love, and to be wise. neither doth this weakness appear to others only, and not to the party loved; but to the loved most of all, except the love be reciproque. for it is a true rule, that love is ever rewarded, either with the reciproque, or with an inward and secret contempt.
by how much the more, men ought to beware of this passion, which loseth not only other things, but itself! as for the other losses, the poet’s relation doth well figure them: that he that preferred helena, quitted the gifts of juno and pallas. for whosoever esteemeth too much of amorous affection, quitteth both riches and wisdom.
this passion hath his floods, in very times of weakness; which are great prosperity, and great adversity; though this latter hath been less observed: both which times kindle love, and make it more fervent, and therefore show it to be the child of folly. they do best, who if they cannot but admit love, yet make it keep quarters; and sever it wholly from their serious affairs, and actions, of life; for if it check once with business, it troubleth men’s fortunes, and maketh men, that they can no ways be true to their own ends.
Yesterday, I broke a vase. This vase has been in my home for several years. I was afraid of being criticized. I didn’t dare to tell my parents. So I pretended nothing happened. But they discovered at last. It was strange that my father didn’t blame me, but teach me a lesson.
He made me know that responsibility was necessary for everyone in the world. If a person was not responsible, he couldn’t do anything successful and may not be popular among the people around you.
A responsible person would have the courage to undertake everything. This was what a boy should have. If I have done something wrong, I should take the responsibility.
It is an honor to be here and say to the Yale College Class of 20xx: you did it; you came through; from all of us to you: congratulations. The issues you must wrestle with-the threat of climate change, food scarcity, and population growth, worldwide terror based on religion, the interdependence of world economy-my student generation would barely recognize. But the difference today is they are essentially global in nature. Your understand this. Yale has become a melting pot of culture, language and civilization. You are the global generation. So be global citizens. Each new generation finds the world they enter. But they fasion the world they leave. So: what do you inherit and what do you pass on? The history of humankind is marked by great events but written by great people. People like you. Given Yale’s record of achievement, perhaps by you. So to you as individuals, what wisdom, if any, have I learnt? First, in fact, keep learning. Always to be alive to the possibilities of the next experience, of thinking, doing and being. When Buddha was asked, near the end of his life, to describe his secret, he answered bluntly: “I’m awake”.
So be awake. Understand conventional wisdom, but be prepared to change it. Feel as well as analyze; use you instinct alongside your reason. Calculate too much and you will miscalculate. Be prepared to fail as well as to succeed, realist it is failure not success that defines character. I spent years trying to be a politician failing at every attempt and nearly gave up. I know you’re thinking: I should have. Sir Paul McCartney reminded me that the first record company the Beatles approached rejected them as a band no-one would want to listen to. Be good to people on your way up because you never know if you will meet them again on your way down. Judge someone by how they treat those below them not those above them. Be a firm friend not a fair-weather friend. It is your friendships, including those friends you made here at Yale, at this time, that sustain and enrich the human spirit. A good test of a person is who turns up at their funeral and with what sincerity. Try not to sit the test too early, of course. Recently, I attended a funeral and the speaker said he would like to begin by reading a list of all those whose funerals he would rather have been attending, but the list was too long. It was a sweet compliment to our friend. Alternatively there was Spike Milligan, the quintessential English comic who when he was asked what he would like as the epitaph on his tombstone replied : “They should write: I told you l was ill.”
There was a colleague of mine in the British Parliament who once asked another:” why do people take such an instant dislike to me?” and got the reply:” Because it saves time.”
So, when others think of you, let them think not with their lips but their hearts of a good friend and a gracious acquaintance. Above all, however, have a purpose in life. Life is not about living but about striving. When you get up, get up motivated. Live with a perpetual sense of urgency. And make at least part of that purpose about something bigger than you. There are great careers. There are also great causes. Ht least let some of them into your Lives. Giving hefts the heart in a way that getting never can. Maybe it really was Oscar Wilde who said: “No one ever died, saying if only l had one more day at the office.”
One small but shocking sentence: each year three million children die in Africa from preventable disease or conflict. The key word? Preventable. When all is said and done, there is usually more said than done. Be a doer not a commentator. Seek responsibility rather than shirk it. People often ask me about leadership, l say: leadership is about wanting the responsibility to be on your shoulders, not ignoring its weight but knowing someone has to carry it and, reaching out for that person to be you. Leaders are heat-seekers not heat-deflectors. And luck? You have all the luck you need. You are here, at Yale, and what-apart from the hats-could be better? You have something else: your parents. When you are your age, you can never imagine being our age. But believe me, when you’re our age we remember clearly being your age. That’s why I am so careful about young men and my daughter, “Don’t tell me what you’re thinking. I know what you’re thinking.”
But as a parent let me tell you something about parents. Despite all rational impulses, despite all evidence to the contrary, despite what we think you do to us and what you think we do to you-and yes, it is often hell on both sides-the plain, unvarnished truth is we love you. Simply, profoundly, utterly. I remember, back in the mists of time, my Dad greeting me off the train at Durham railway station. I was a student at Oxford. Oxford and Cambridge are for Britain kind of like Yale and Harvard, only more so. It was a big deal. I had been away for my first year and was coming home. I stepped off the train. My hair was roughly the length of Rumpelstiltskin’s and unwashed. I had no shoes and no shirt. My jeans were torn-and this was in the days before this became a fashion item. Worst of all, we had just moved house. Mum had thrown out the sitting room drapes. I had retrieved them and made a sleeveless long coat with them. My Dad greeted me. There were all his friends at the station. Beside me, their kids looked paragons of responsibility. He saw the drapes, and visibly winced. They did kind of stand out. I took pity on him. “Dad”, I said. “There is good news. I don’t do drugs.” He looked me in the eye and said: “Son, the bad news is if you’re looking like this and you’re not doing drugs we’ve got a real problem.”
Your parents look at you today with love. They know how hard it is to make the grade and they respect you for making it. And tomorrow as I know, as a parent of one of this class, as you receive your graduation, their hearts will beat with the nature rhythm of pride. Pride in what you have achieved. Pride in who you are. They will be nervous for you, as you stand on the threshold of a new adventure for they know the many obstacles that lie ahead. But they will be confident that you can surmount them, for they know also the strength of character and of spirit that has taken you thus far. To my fellow parents: I say, let us rejoice and be glad together. To the Yale College Class of 20xx, I say: well done; and may blessings and good fortune be yours in the years to come.

some people may proudly say: we are the masters of nature. it is true that the idea of man can conquer nature has dominated people s mind for years, and it is true, man has kept acting like a master and doing whatever things he wants for thousands of years. however, as the consequence of this kind of leadership , now the master seems to be confronted with problems that are far beyond his control. facts are really very ample. thegreen house effect leaves islands and cities along the coast, such as this oriental pearl-shanghai, in danger of the disaster of being drowned; the holes of the ozone layer make the earth less suitable to live for some creatures including human beings; the phenomena of el nino and la nina leave the land with serious flood and drought, and the diseases, caused by pollution, are increasing at an incredible speed... seeing all these facts, can westill ignore the counterattack of nature? we are not the masters of nature. facing all the disasters made by ourselves, we, mankind as a whole should realize that we are just a normal member of the big family of nature. any mistreatment towards nature will meet only with the revenge from her. by saying so, i do not mean we should give a sudden stop to any development. because that will result in a threat to the existence of human society. i mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence and development to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will get the situation of win-win. i am very pleased to find that now more and more people, from every corner of the planet, have come to realize that harmony with nature is the only way to universal and continuous progress and prosperity. and i think that is why we come here from all over the country to discuss this topic today. i want to end my speech by quoting from mr. nixon. our destiny offers, not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity. the future is not ours to see of course. however, by seizing firmly the opportunities, by knowing clearly about ourselves, we, human beings, can doubtlessly achieve the real harmony with nature! thank you very much. development. because that will result in a threat to the existence of human society. i mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence and development to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will get the situation of win-win. i am very pleased to find that now more and more people, from every corner of the planet, have come to realize that harmony with nature is the only way to universal and continuous progress and prosperity. and i think that is why we come here from all over the country to discuss this topic today. i want to end my speech by quoting from mr. nixon. our destiny offers, not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity. the future is not ours to see of course. however, by seizing firmly the opportunities, by knowing clearly about ourselves, we, human beings, can doubtlessly achieve the real harmony with nature! thank you very much. development. because that will result in a threat to the existence of human society. i mean we should treat nature equally, leaving the chance of existence and development to nature as we are obtaining the same thing, and thus we will get the situation of win-win. i am very pleased to find that now more and more people, from every corner of the planet, have come to realize that harmony with nature is the only way to universal and continuous progress and prosperity. and i think that is why we come here from all over the country to discuss this topic today. i want to end my speech by quoting from mr. nixon. our destiny offers, not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity. the future is not ours to see of course. however, by seizing firmly the opportunities, by knowing clearly about ourselves, we, human beings, can doubtlessly achieve the real harmony with nature! thank you very much.

Gravity of Communication in Business
The success of any business lies as much in networking and building sound professional relationships as it does in individual tact and business acumen. Communication is a crucial decisive factor in business relations. It is very important to say the right things at the right time and at the right place when dealing with partners, customers, stakeholders, media and, sometimes, even competitors. Any miscommunication or ambiguity can pour pails of cold water on your hard work and ruin your chances of survival in today's competitive business environment. Maintaining professional etiquette in oral and written business communication is of utmost importance and must not be taken lightly. We should be grateful that we are living in an era of enlightenment where we have access to training on just about anything under the sun! Nowadays, many courses are available that provide training on developing business communication skills and correspondence and a lot of educational institutes conduct classes on ways to improve communication skills. Effective communication skills in business go a long way in sealing your financial success.
Our friends present here:
Once there were two mice. They were friends. One mouse lived in the country; the other mouse lived in the city. After many years the Country mouse saw the City mouse; he said, "Do come and see me at my house in the country." So the City mouse went. The City mouse said, "This food is not good, and your house is not good. Why do you live in a hole in the field? You should come and live in the city. You would live in a nice house made of stone. You would have nice food to eat. You must come and see me at my house in the city."
The Country mouse went to the house of the City mouse. It was a very good house. Nice food was set ready for them to eat. But just as they began to eat they heard a great noise. The City mouse cried, " Run! Run! The cat is coming!" They ran away quickly and hid.
After some time they came out. When they came out, the Country mouse said, "I do not like living in the city. I like living in my hole in the field. For it is nicer to be poor and happy, than to be rich and afraid."
Thank you my speech to this end.
Good afternoon, dear teachers and dear students.
At this particular moment, let me first, on behalf of the 52 all senior three graduates, express our heartfelt thanks to those who have nurture our teachers. Thank you, thank you, for our careful cultivation over the past three years. Thank you for the careful cultivation of the three years. Thank you for the endless wisdom and strength I have enjoyed all my life. We are flowers blooming in your eyes, and you let every petal smell fragrant. We are going to enter the examination room with your loving eyes.
After all, the college entrance examination is the first sacred test in our life, and its pressure can be imagined. Some people say that anyone who can withstand the test of college entrance examination is a warrior. You know, teacher, your affectionate stare is our strongest dependence. I believe that all the sweat and ideals of hard work will be transformed into a good news report. We know that it is the best reward for your long selfless dedication.
Yes, we are full of confidence in this. Teacher, I feel your expectations, your eyes. Now I can still remember every smile you have, every time you talk, your every lesson is still fresh in our mind. Without recollection, everything is so vivid and very gratifying. Teacher, we really do not want to talk about leaving, we are deeply attached to you and our one.
However, the eagle always wants to soar in the sky. Sailors always want to anchor and sail. We are the hope of your release, a seed full of vitality, we will explore and realize the dream of youth.
Here, I also make a suggestion to our classmates: we must pay attention to the rest before examination. Don't take these days as special days, and spend your time as usual. I would like to introduce a self adjustment method of the last teacher's elder sister: designing the examination room and simulating examination process in mind to relieve anxiety. Our state of mind should be excited but not too nervous. Our mind is calm and busy without chaos. No matter how you review, you must confidently walk to the examination room. Only by adjusting the psychology, can we give full play in the examination, keep the thinking flexible and meticulous, and mobilize the effective information in the memory in time, so as to achieve normal or abnormal play. When answering a question, it is more important to be confident and relaxed, because nervousness is useless.
In our lifetime, we will encounter countless meaningful and important events like the national college entrance examination. Little philosopher of Seneca, Rome philosopher, said: no one will feel that youth is dying, but no one will feel that youth is gone. I feel that life gives us infinite and noble gifts, that is youth. There is no better than youth in the world. Only by studying hard is the best way to cherish youth.
It has been in the second middle school for three years. Looking back on these three years, there is always a kind of kind to tear our face. There is always a kind of power that makes us confident. There is always a call that drives us to continue to explore "knowledge, love, conscience". This power comes from you, my teacher, my alma mater. Perhaps, it is not time to review high school life and thank teachers. Well, let's keep our hearts in mind. With the best condition and best achievement, offer the last answer to schools and mentors.
Finally, let's once again express our heartfelt thanks to our alma mater and all the teachers who have nurture our growth with enthusiastic applause.
Thank you

feeling of youth no young man believes he shall ever die. it was a saying of my brother's, and a fine one. there is a feeling of eternity in youth, which makes us amend for everything. to be young is to be as one of the immortal gods. one half of time indeed is flown-the other half remains in store for us with all its countletreasures; for there is no line drawn, and we see no limit to our hopes and wishes. we make the coming age our own- the vast, the unbounded prospect lies before us.
death. old age. are words without a meaning. that paby us like the idea air which we regard not. others may have undergone, or may still be liable to them-we "bear a charmed life“, which laughs to scorn all such sickly fancies. as in setting out on delightful journey, we strain our eager gaze forward- bidding the lovely scenes at distance hail!
and see no end to the landscape, new objects presenting themselves as we advance; so, in the commencement of life, we set no bounds to our inclinations. nor to the unrestricted opportunities of gratifying them. we have as yet found no obstacle, no disposition to flag; and it seems that we can go on so forever. we look round in a new world, full of life, and motion, and ceaseleprogress; and feel in ourselves all the vigor and spirit to keep pace with it, and do not foresee from any present symptoms how we shall be left behind in the natural course of things, decline into old age, and drop into the grave. it is the simplicity, and as it were abstractedneof our feelings in youth, that identifies us with nature, and deludes us into a belief of being immortal like it. our short-lives connection with existence we fondly flatter ourselves, is an indissoluble and lasting union-a honeymoon that knows neither coldness, jar, nor separation. as infants smile and sleep, we are rocked in the cradle of our wayward fancies, and lulled into security by the roar of the universe around us0we quaff the cup of life with eager haste without draining it, instead of which it only overflows the more-objects prearound us, filling the mind with their magnitude and with the strong of desires that wait upon them, so that we have no room for the thoughts of death.

good morning everyone. my name is zhang san. today my topic is my college life. i wish i could share my happiness and annoyance i have experienced with you all. four years ago i came into the city of baoding and started my college life in ncepu, the most memorable journey of my life. i was just a shy and little boy that time. all the things seemed fresh to me: new faces, military training, large library and physics lab etc. i breathed the air of college greedily, but to tell the truth, the air in baoding is terrible. it’s really hard to explain my feelings that time: curiousenergeticin one word, i was really happy that time.
and now i am going to graduate in july. recalling to the four years, i think i have to talk about one thing-----learning. learn how to study independently, learn how to get along with others, learn to love, learn tooh, there are too much things we have to learn.
another relationship in college is friendship. my roommates have lived four years with me. in these years, they forgive my faults, cry with me, laugh with me, play with methey always stand with me and support me, i have learned a lot from them. i love them all and treasure the friendship with them.
that’s my college life. i cherish all i have experienced in college. i love you, my college!that’s all, thank you!

The Little Prince is a tale for both children and adults. The Little Prince is the story of a man who crashes his airplane into the desert only to meet a traveling boy from a small planet. The boy inquires about trees and sheep, shares his
journeys and various encounters, and then leaves. Yet, reading between the lines, the story offers a much more complex, eiching, satisfying and eye-opening moral: what matters in life is love - and caring about someone or something and
maintaining that relationship. The prince loves his rose enough to care for it every night by protecting it with a glass globe and requesting a muzzle for his sheep. He knows that the rose is naive with only four purposeless thorns and, out of his loyalty to her, it is his duty to protect her. Likewise, the narrator loves the prince and feels an obligation to secure his safe journey home.
I read this book as a child and was infected with a sense of awe and a
newfound respect for the written word and its power to touch, heal and change
perception. For myself, it accomplished two things; it instilled in me a desire to one day
become a writer and touch others with my words and like the narrator of the story, and Antoine De Saint-Exupery (whose own plane crash is said to have been the basis for the tale) it instilled within me a hope that one day the Little Prince will return and someone will let me know.
What is the meaning of this tale? Easily saying is that the tale talk about many normal things like morals and principles and values from two different but successive way as children and adults. As the narrator said you can only catch adults’ attention by describing the price of something or saying the number of something. It’s hard to make adults feel lovely by the children’s beautiful describing. That is the reason why many adults believe this tale is a tale for adults.
Being insincere and utilitarian, adults consider useful and kids think sinful. Free spirit and free heart, adults consider absurd and children believe necessary. The amazing point is that these two different beliefs are held by one species--Human. When we were young, we could see anything God want us to see. But after decades, what we could see was only something we need to see.
There are so many good things for children and their imagination. And there are not so many things for adults and their reality.
